Dave Sjoding is the Renewables Resources Specialist for the WSU Extension Energy Program. On a national level, Sjoding works for the Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy department of the U.S. Department of Energy in the information center, answering questions about products, services, technology programs, and referring callers to the most beneficial and appropriate resources.
A multifaceted professional, Sjoding leads a six-state Pacific Regional Biomass Energy Partnership. The partnership is supported by the U.S. Department of Energy and state energy offices, and encourages the development of bioenergy within the Pacific Region.
To top off his list of projects, Sjoding leads a five-state group, the Northwest Combined Heat and Power Application Center. This group promotes efficient energy use by recycling energy. It significantly reduces air pollutants and saves money. Actively promoted by The U.S. Department of Energy, Combined Heat and Power is usually found in commercial facilities. Combined Heat and Power Applications is also a good match for college campus heating and cooling systems, or downtown areas.
After receiving a Master’s of Arts Degree in public administration, Dave became an expert in biomass energy, renewable energy, energy efficiency, energy prices, and distributed generation.
